Description
Nederlands: Tijdens de Japanse bezetting van Nederlands-Indië was de bezettingspolitiek gericht op het elimineren van de westerse invloed. Een groot deel van de Europese bevolking, zo’n 100.000 burgers, werd in gescheiden kampen (mannen en vrouwen met kinderen) geïnterneerd. Eind 1942 zaten in interneringskamp Brastagi, ten zuiden van Medan, 1.744 mannen, vrouwen en kinderen. Mevrouw A.C. Visser-Neumann gaf zondagsschool aan kinderen en beloofde hen een poppentheater. Ze maakte hiervoor een decor en de 3 handpoppen van textiel: Jan Klaassen, Catrijn en een kabouter.
